SF&F artist Darrell K. Sweet (1934-2011)


Locus Online reports that science fiction & fantasy artist Darrell K. Sweet (1934-2011) died yesterday, December 5th. Born in 1934 in New Brunswick NJ, Sweet graduated from Syracuse University in 1956 with a degree in fine arts. He created the cover art for dozens of books published by Ace, Ballantine, Berkeley and other major SF&F publishers in the 1970s & 1980s, including the artwork for reprints of David Starr—Space Ranger by Isaac Asimov, Martian Time-Slip by Philip K. Dick, Red Planet by Robert A. Heinlein, and the paperback original Menace Under Marswood by Sterling E. Lanier.
