Red Planet, green thumb: Preview of new iPhone/iPad "action gardening" game Lost Mars

A high-profile video game company called Tiger Style presented a demo of its new iPhone/iPad scientific “action gardening” adventure game Lost Mars at Fantastic Arcade 2011, a national gaming event held this past weekend in Austin, Texas.

According to a preview posted on Joystiq, Lost Mars is a side-scrolling action-adventure game in which you, an astronaut named Liang, jet-pack through a network of underground caves and lava tubes beneath the surface of the Red Planet, searching for lost predecessors while carrying on their mission of discovering life. But instead of encountering and killing hostile aliens, you learn about Martian botany and progress through the game by growing and harvesting as much organic biomass as possible!

Lost Mars is for the iPhone/iPad and is scheduled to be released before Halloween.
